Letter attack on the US power grid can cost a trillion dollars

A report published on Wednesday estimated that the cost cyberattack
result in disruption of parts of the electricity networks of the United States,
the US economy nearly a trillion dollars.


While corporate managers are worried about security breaches, but recent 
polls indicate that they are not convinced of the value or effectiveness 
of e-insurance solutions.

The report issued by the Center for Risk Studies at the University of 
Cambridge and review the scenario for the power outage left 93 million
 people in New York City and Washington, DC without electricity.

The report said the scenario developed by the University of Cambridge
 technologically feasible and is being evaluated as can happen once every
 200 years, however, should insurance companies be prepared.

The report pointed out that cyber attacks caused a rise in mortality rates, 
such as that caused by health and safety regulations crashes, economic crises,
 because the ports shut down and crashes happen in transportation and infrastructure.

The report stated that there were 15 suspected letter attack on the power
 grid in the United States since 2000, citing US Department of Energy data.
